The Pilates method is a form of exercise originally developed by Joseph Pilates (1880-1967).
Pilates aims to balance the body and to keep it flexible. By taking this balance and posture in to your everyday life, Pilates enables you to sit better at a desk, stand better in a queue and live with less stress on the joints.
General Pilates Classes on ZOOM
General Pilates classes are available from the comfort of your own home, Tuesday and Thursday. Wednesday 9am is "Themed Wednesday" we do every other week weights and resistance. The in-between weeks are workshops, where we concentrate on different parts of the body in detail. In the past we have done, hips, knees bottoms, neck and shoulders etc. Classes last 1 hour and you are positioned so I can see and correct faulty movement patterns .
Healthy Back Classes
Healthy Back classes are specifically for those with back pain.
Gentle effective exercise delivered by a properly trained professional, can often help with the prevention and management of low back pain. This was underlined by the publication in 2009 of medical guidelines recommending that people with persistent non specific low back pain should be encouraged to stay physically active and exercise. Non specific back pain is tension, soreness and or stiffness in the lower back region.
Pilates for Healthy Backs classes are geared to the prevention and management of low back pain. There are 2 classes on ZOOM Tuesday and Thursday 10.15 and taught by myself a qualified Back4Good® Practitioner. Pilates for Healthy Backs works specifically on the back with exercises designed to strengthen the back and get it moving again.
Learn how to use the muscles correctly and build a protective core of support.
