Body Control Pilates®

2006 sees 10 years of the Body Control Pilates Association, established in 1996 with the goal of bringing the remarkable benefits of Pilates to all.  Its founders, Lynne Robinson and Gordon Thomson, have been at the forefront of the boom in awareness of, and participation in, the Pilates Method.  Body Control Pilates has since become Europe’s largest professional body for Pilates teachers and continues to enjoy an excellent reputation with regard to the effectiveness and the quality of its teaching.  The key reasons for this are:

Progressive Approach

Good movement skills are taught step-by-step, which will ultimately give you the strength and flexibility you need to perform the more advanced traditional Pilates exercises.  The programme contains many exercises unique to Body Control Pilates.

Quality of Teaching

Training focuses on teaching the range of exercises thoroughly.  Body Control Pilates teachers are renowned for their attention to detail and their ability to cater for the needs of the individual.

Client Assessment

Before joining a class, your Body Control Pilates teacher will ask you to complete an enrolment form giving details of any injuries or conditions.  Where appropriate, and with your permission, they will liaise with your doctor to ensure that your Pilates programme is suitable.

Class Size

All Body Control Pilates Association teachers work to a maximum class size of 12.  This ensures close supervision and support from your teacher.

Code of Practice

Body Control Pilates Association teachers work to a code of practice which governs teaching standards and professional ethics.
